SHALAA (IRE) (Invincible Spirit (IRE)-Ghurra by War Chant), the Champion Two Year-Old Colt of Great Britain and France in 2015, will shuttle to Arrowfield in 2017 from Al Shaqab’s Haras de Bouquetot in France, where his first book included Arc winner Treve. Rated 123+ by Timeform in July of his juvenile year, he won the Middle Park Stakes-Gr.1 at Newmarket and Prix Morny-Gr.1 at Deauville and will stand at $33,000.

“Shalaa displayed the high quality, early maturing speed that Australian breeders demand and offers a fresh take on the Danzig sire line that is clearly working here,” Arrowfield chairman John Messara said. “I have inspected him personally and he is a great physical type and we will be supporting him strongly,” he said of the son of outstanding sire Invincible Spirit (IRE), a horse who commands a €120,000 fee at the Irish National Stud and who left the outstanding young sire I Am Invincible when he shuttled from 2003-2006.

Inbred 3mx3m to Danzig and with the Sharpen Up brothers Kris and Diesis 3x3, Shalaa won six of his eight starts, five of them at 1200m at two, and his Gr.3 placed dam is a three-quarter sister to Gr.1 winner and sire Hayil (Dayjur), both from Listed placed Futuh (Diesis).
