XTRAVAGANT (NZ) (Pentire (GB)-Axiom by Zabeel), New Zealand’s Champion Three Year-Old of 2015-16, will stand at Newhaven Park, Boorowa in 2017 at $16,500. The dual Gr.1 winner and $375,000 yearling created a huge impression when he won the NZ 2000 Guineas-Gr.1 by 8.5 lengths in race record time of 1.33.59 for the 1600m and was the highest rated three year-old since Bonecrusher.

He won six of his 12 starts from 1200m (by eight lengths at two) to 1600m. He also beat older rivals at WFA in the Waikato Sprint-Gr.1 at Te Rapa, scoring by eight lengths. He’s a brother to Gr.3 winner and Gr.1 placed He’s Remarkable and his half-sister is the promising Chris Waller-trained Axiomatic (O’Reilly).
