WINNING Rupert (Written Tycoon-Winaura by Show a Heart), winner of five of his six starts including the BRC Champagne Classic-Gr.2 (at two) and Vo Rogue Plate-Gr.3, will stand at Newgate Farm, Aberdeen in 2017. China Horse Club, Newgate and a syndicate of leading breeders purchased the speedster after he was injured when fourth in the Magic Millions Guineas in early January.

Described by trainer Bjorn Baker as “the fastest horse I have had anything to do with”, Winning Rupert was unbeaten in two starts at two and broke two track records in winning his first five starts. He was found to have a bone chip in a knee after the Guineas.

He joins Golden Slipper winner and fellow Written Tycoon son Capitalist on the growing roster at Newgate and is one of that boom sire’s 19 stakes winners. His dam, Winaura, won five races and more than $220,000 and is a daughter of Gr.1 winner and leading Queensland sire Show a Heart and from seven-time winner Miss Bonnie Dan, by the fast Jukebox horse In The Slot, a Blue Diamond Prelude winner at two.
