Stakes winner Notoire. She cost
$32,000 as a yearling when purchased from the Inglis Winter Mixed Sale, and made
her victorious debut over a 1000m on Monday. Happy Hippy races
for Nathan Tinkler’s Patinack Farm and is trained by Jason Coyle.
Shamardal's yearlings
have sold very well in both hemisphere and he returns to Darley Australia

News from Darley Stud that Shamardal’s first foal
has arrived - and it's a boy!
Out of Mohammed Al-Qatami’s Night Shift mare, Ellway Star, the chestnut colt was born at Kilshannig Stud in County Cork.
Described by the proud stud owner and bloodstock agent Hugo Merry as “an attractive, good-sized foal – we are very happy with him.”
Ellway Star, a dual winner who was also third in the Listed Lansdown Fillies Stakes, is a half-sister to Irish 2000 Guineas runner-up Fa-Eq and another Stakes winner in Corinium. The producer of two winners to date, she also has a two-year-old filly by Red Ransom.
Shamardal was crowned Champion two-year-old in Europe, following his dominating victory in the Group One Darley Dewhurst Stakes. He went on to win three further Group One contests as a three-year-old, winning both the French Guineas and French Derby before running away with the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. During his first season at Kildangan Stud last year, he covered an exceptional book of mares that included more mares that have produced Group winners than Galileo, Selkirk or Indian Ridge; and seven individual G1 winners.
His fee in the northern hemisphere for 2007 is €40,000 October 1st Special live foal.
