The 2009 Breeders’ Cup World Championships, America’s most prestigious racing carnival, that annually attracts the best horses from North America and Europe has attracted a total of 166 entries. Amongst the entries are 10 defending or former Breeders’ Cup champions for the 26th Breeders’ Cup World Championships to be held at Santa Anita in California, on November 6-7, the first time in Breeders’ Cup history that the event has been held at the same racecourse in consecutive years.
The Breeders Cup carnival provides owners the opportunity to race for prizemoney of more than US25.5 million spread over 14 races.
