Melbourne - Vic (November 15, 2009) - Announcing his arrival on the racing scene in some style, Secession, a two-year-old son of Lonhro, took out the Listed Triple M’s Hot Breakfast Stakes (registered name: Merson Cooper) in impressive fashion at Sandown-Hillside on Saturday.
The Woodlands Stud-bred debutant is out of Walnut, by Procul Harum, herself a Listed winner over 1100m. Secession’s full-brother is the Todman Stakes placegetter Purdey.
The debut victory of Secession gave Lonhro his 10th stakes winner, his sixth this season, with Secession joining Denman, Demerit, Deer Valley, O’Lonhro and Trim.
