Melbourne, Vic (November 30, 2009) - A full sister to Saturday’s outstanding Randwick two-year-old winner Solar Charged will be offered for sale at January’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
The Charge Forward filly raced clear of her rivals in the straight in the Sydney juvenile event to win by a widening five lengths.
Carrying the colours of Peter Horwitz, Solar Charged was ridden by Melbourne Cup winning jockey, Corey Brown, and he had a glowing report for TVN’s Richard Callander.

Solar Charged
“I haven’t ridden a Golden Slipper winner, but she is one of the most impressive two-year-olds I’ve been on,” Brown said.
Trained at Randwick by John O’Shea, who wasn’t surprised by the brown filly’s effort.
“I don’t think there is much between her and her father (Charge Forward) at the same stage of their careers,” O’Shea said.
O’Shea will send Solar Charged for a short break with the aim of preparing her for a tilt at the Group I Golden Slipper next autumn.
Good news for buyers heading to the Magic Millions sale at the Gold Coast in the new year is that Solar Charged’s full-sister is heading north for the sale. Both the yearling and Solar Charged are out of the Danehill mare Soul Singer, a winner of three races and the dam of the Tasmanian Oaks winner Causeway Queen (by Giant’s Causeway). Soul Singer is a full sister to the stakes placed Soul Queen, a half-sister to the stakes winner Sir Linford (by Last Tycoon) and the stakes placed Our Axeman (by Timber Country).
The filly, catalogued as lot 608, is being prepared on behalf of Peter Horwitz by Vinery Stud.
Vinery’s Adam White said the filly was a lovely type and she will have plenty of admirers.
“Solar Charged was reared on the property and her yearling sister is a lot like her at the same stage,” White commented.
“She’s a lovely filly and we’re looking forward to getting her to the Gold Coast in January.”
The Vinery operation are preparing 27 yearlings for the sale.
“We’ve got a lovely bunch of yearlings going up. And we’ve had some great pedigree updates already.”
“Nine Tales won a group race since the catalogue and we’ve got his half brother by Rock of Gibraltar in the sale.”
White pointed out that there was a half-brother to the recent stakes performed juvenile Sublime Girl in the draft as well as a half-brother to a recent metropolitan winner Moonlight Music.
“Everything is coming together well and we’re really happy with the draft,” White summed up.
At the forthcoming yearling sales in the New Year, Charge Forward (Red Ransom - Sydney’s Dream by Bletchingly) has 18 yearlings by him catalogued for sale at the Magic Millions sale (January 6th – 14th) on the Gold Coast. Later that month, he has four yearlings listed for sale at the William Inglis Classic yearling sale (January 24-25th) another three are catalogued for sale in Western Australia at the Magic Millions sale (January 27-31st).
Charge Forward is also represented by two yearlings at New Zealand Bloodstock’s premier sale at Karaka (February 1st-2nd).
