Melbourne, Vic (November 21, 2009) Remarkable Girl provided Widden Stud’s freshman sire Snippetson with his first winner today when she cruised to victory in the Two-Year-Old Plate (900m) at Kembla Grange.
Remarkable Girl proved too strong for Whippy Van (Street Cry) and Bouzy Rouge (Snitzel). Trained by ex South African champion trainer, David Payne, the brown filly was sent out as the punters’ elect after a strong trial win at Rosehill and didn’t let her supporters down.
Remarkable Girl, a graduate of John and Marilyn Baxter’s Ruane operation, was purchased by senior part owner Bert Vieira for $51,000 in session three at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in January.

Her sire Snippetson was a top class short course performer during his racing career prior to being retired to Widden Stud in the Hunter Valley.
A winner of four races and four times a runner-up from just 12 starts, Snippetson won two Listed events - the Eskimo Prince Handicap and Maurice McCarten Stakes.
He was also second in a Group 2 Challenge Stakes and Group 3 Missile Stakes and fourth in the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes.
A full brother to Group One winner and sire Snowland, Snippetson is one of five stakes performers from his dam, the grand producing Polish Precedent mare Snowdrift.
As well as Snowland and Snippetson she is the dam of the Group 2 winner and Golden Slipper placed Portillo and the stakes performed duo of Snowden and Freeze.
Remarkable Girl is the first named foal for her dam, the Melbourne winning two-year-old Favorite Trick mare With Love.
With Love is a daughter of the triple stakes winning two-year-old Loving Cup - a daughter of Bluebird.
Twelve yearlings by Snippetson have been catalogued for January’s Magic Millions  sale (January 6th – 14th) on the Gold Coast,  four yearlings at the Magic Millions sale in Western Australia (January 27 – 31st) with 23 yearlings by him at the William Inglis Classic yearling sale (January 24-25th).
