Fastnet Rock has posted
over the last couple of months kept improving at Sandown on Saturday.
When his the three-year-old filly,
Fast Talker, a member of the Lee Freedman stable and ridden by the inform apprentice Jason Maskiell who returned to scale with his face covered in blood but sporting a smile, after she did best to win the Mahaasin Hcp (1400m).
Fast Talker is now a dual Melbourne winner and stakes placegetter from just 11 starts.
“She’s a real fighter and it was a great ride from Jason,” Freedman’s foreman Sam Pritchard-Gordon said.

Crystal Wit, was purchased for $320,000 from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud at the 2008
Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Just a day earlier, John Holloway, reported in the Sydney Morning Herald that
Fastnet Rock will be leaving for Ireland on Wednesday (Jan 27th) to cover mares at
Coolmore Stud in the northern hemisphere.
The decision was made late last week, with Coolmore’s Australian manager Michael Kirwan saying
Fastnet Rock would serve a limited number of mares in Ireland following his record-breaking 272 mares last spring Down Under.
”[Coolmore boss] John Magnier believed the stallion would attract some good mares in Europe following his outstanding success in Australia during the current racing season,”
”He’s probably the most exciting young stallion in the land, and we’re talking about him covering between 50 and 60 mares at Coolmore in Ireland. It will be a good starting point for Fastnet Rock, and being a son of Danehill from a Royal Academy mare makes his pedigree most familiar with European breeders,” Kirwan said
