All The Good To Stand In Turkey

Melbourne, Vic (Feb 8th, 2010) - All The Good, the winner of the 2008 Caulfield Cup for Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin stable, is the newest recruit for the burgeoning thoroughbred industry in Turkey.

A lovely chestnut, All The Good was spotted by Godolphin after he won at Newbury in England in 2008, they deemed him an ideal type for
a spring campagin down under and he was sent to Melbourne a few months later.

Sent out at big odds in the BMW Caulfield Cup, All The Good travelled near the speed and powered home to collect the historic victory for the boys in blue to beat Nom du Jeu (Montjeu - Prized Gem) and Barbaricus (Lion Hunter - Light of Erin).

The winning effort did take its toll with the son of Diesis sustaining a injury to a joint which ruled him out of the Melbourne Cup.  He never returned to the track.

Originally purchased by trainer Gerald Butler as a yearling for 62,000 guineas at the 2004 Tattersalls October Yearling sale Part 1, All The Good is out of the unraced Zarara (by Manila) making her a half-sister to the English, Irish and Yorkshire Oaks heroine, Ramruma and black type earners Ausherra and Royal Scimitar. All three are by Diesis.

All The Good is the latest addition to Turkey’s stallion ranks. Recently, the Turkish Jockey Club purchased high profile stallions Dehere, Lion Heart and Powerscourt from Coolmore to join the Turkish national stud.  The Club had earlier purchased Cuvee (Carson City ex Christmas Star by Star de Naskra) and Yonaguska (Cherokee Run ex Marital Spook by Silver Ghost) from America.

These horses will join 21 other stallions, currently standing under the management of the Jockey Club of Turkey in Izmit, who include Divine Light (Sunday Silence - Meld Sport by Northern Taste),
Unaccounted For (Private Account - Mrs Jenney by The Minstrel) and Victory Gallop (Cryptoclearance - Victorious Lil by Vice Regent).
