Fairytale filly Chance Bye highlighted a close relation at next week’s Premier Sale as fellow Inglis graduates Not A Pretender and Shrapnel also scored feature two-year-old successes on Saturday.

CHANCE BYE ($15,000 2009 Classic, 2f Snitzel ex Rouge Femme by Red Ransom) made it three wins from as many starts for Kembla trainer Mick Tubman and took her earnings to the brink of half a million dollars in winning the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

The win books the Snitzel filly’s place in April’s Golden Slipper.  Torryburn Stud will offer a three-quarter-sister by Choisir to Chance Bye as Lot 368, during the second session on Tuesday March 2nd,  at the Premier sale.

SHRAPNEL ($450,000 2009 Easter, 2c Charge Forward ex Fragmentation by Snippets) justified the high opinion of his trainer Mark Kavanagh in taking out the Group 3 Breeders Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville.  Bred by Highgrove Stud, the colt is a half-relation to the exciting young sprinter Wanted (by Fastnet Rock), and had picked up black type placing on debut.

It was great to see our two-year-olds perform so well, but their wins, along with the stakes success of Stratum filly Crystal Lily, has highlighted the emergence of their young sires at our yearling sales,” Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster said.

Well related filly NOT A PRETENDER ($65,000 2009 Premier, 2f Royal Academy-Mimes) provided Nathan Tinkler’s Patinack Farm with more success when she scored a dominant win in the $250,000 Inglis Premier (1200m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

She is from the family of Blue Diamond winner Reward For Effort (Exceed And Excel), G1 placed Consular and fellow stakes winners Chuckle, Catnipped, Life’s A Bounty and Bleveeka.  Not A Pretender was offered for sale by Woodside Park, who have a draft of 13 yearlings for this year’s Premier.

Patinack Farm was the leading buyer at last year’s sale and Not A Pretender continues a successful run for those buys, which include Breeders’ Plate winner Run For Wilson and dual Brisbane winner Heartsareforlove.

The sale received another notable update when emerging four-year-old BRILLIANT LIGHT ($14,000 2006 Australian Weanling, $32,000 2007 Classic, 4g Fantastic Light-Trick Taker by Capote) made it four wins on end when resuming at Rosehill.

Brilliant Light is a full-brother to Group 1 winner Mission Critical and Bendaree Park will offer a Chateau Istana half-brother as Lot 475, to be offered on Wednesday March 3rd at next week’s sale.

The 2010 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale begins at Oaklands on Monday at 11am and runs over four sessions.   For those not able to attend the sale, it will be broadcast via the internet on the William Inglis website, with Online Bidding and Make an Offer services available.    TVN will broadcast the sale and the first lot will walk into the ring at 11am on Monday, March 1st.
