Melbourne, Vic (March 11th, 2010) - Queensland’s leading stud, Glenlogan Park, has announced they will be adding the multiple stakes winning, and impeccably bred, Red Element to their outstanding roster of colonial-bred sires for the upcoming season.

Red Element, a full brother to Australia’s best race-mare and budding champion Typhoon Tracy, hails from one of the very best families in the Australian studbook and has the looks and ability to really make a significant impact in the breeding barn.

“With Red Ransom’s sons going so well at present with the likes of Solar Charged (by Charge Forward) and Divorces (by Domesday) both being genuine Golden Slipper chances, and his full sister Typhoon Tracy proving almost unbeatable on the track, we are obviously very excited about the future prospects of standing a horse with the depth of Red Element,” Glenlogan Park’s principal Jon Haseler said.

“We have been actively pursuing a suitable son of Red Ransom to add to our stallion roster for quite some time now,” Haseler added. “So to be able to offer breeders one that, in our opinion, has a pedigree better than any other standing in the country is a real coup for both our clients and the farm.”

Red Elements’ trainer, David Hayes, is exceptionally positive about the prospects of his former sprinter proving successful in the breeding barn.

“I have no doubt we never really got to see this horse reach his potential on the track,” Hayes said. “Things just didn’t fall our way on Group One day but there is no question that the horse had absolute Group One ability.

“He was such a beautiful moving horse and I would think one of the most balanced and well conformed horses I have ever trained.

“He is sure to let down into a magnificent looking stallion and, you would think, will leave great shaped, professional looking yearlings.

“In my opinion he ticks all the boxes and I will be really keen in the years to come to be get his offspring into my stables.

“He is a super chance to make it as a sire.”

Glenlogan Park’s Manager Steve Morley is also obviously extremely optimistic about introducing Red Element to the farm.

“He fits perfectly into our stallion roster and I am delighted to be promoting a sire with as much potential as this fellow has to offer,” Morley said.

“I am confident breeders will not find a better bred, or better looking, son of Red Ransom anywhere in the world.

“Red Element is the type of sire whom I truly expect to explode when his progeny hit the tracks and he is going represent tremendous value for breeders in his initial years.

“In the last 8 or 9 seasons our stallions’ progeny have consistently been amongst the leading return on investment sires in the country, and I am sure Red Element will add his name to that list when the time comes for his youngsters to be presented at the sales.

“We have worked hard at assembling our stallion roster, pricing them competitively and are very proud of how they are performing on the national stage.

“With the addition of Red Element to our roster in 2010, we will be able to offer breeders high quality, colonially bred sons of Redoute’s Choice, Flying Spur, Tale Of The Cat and Red Ransom, as well as a former Australian Champion Sprinter who is proving a great winner-getter and a Champion Sire who is the last remaining commercial Star Kingdom line descendant.

“Red Element is therefore a wonderful addition to our roster and adds further depth to the sires we have who can complement Northern Dancer line mares.

“Physically, and genetically, he lacks for nothing and he is sure to prove very, very popular.”

Glenlogan Park has been riding the crest of a wave in recent years with their flag-bearer stallion Show A Heart firmly entrenched amongst the top stallions in the country and one of their first season sires, Jet Spur, currently leading all other stallions in Australia for number of 2YO winners.

Red Element will stand his initial season at an introductory price of $8,800 (inc GST) and he will be syndicated amongst breeders with a limited number of shares being available.

“I am sure his syndication will fill up very quickly as the shareholders in our stallions have done fantastically well over the last decade,” Morley added. “We have once again priced these shares at wonderful value and, in a horse of this quality and depth; opportunities like this don’t come up very often.”
