Melbourne, Vic (March 15th, 2010) - The Hong Kong Derby undercard at Sha Tin on Sunday supplied a great result for New Zealand stud Rich Hill when Public Figure opened his winning account in fine style over 1600 metres.
Public Figure was a $60,000 purchase by the Hong Kong Jockey Club from the farm’s 2008 Premier Sale draft at Karaka and is out of Goodness Me (by Kings Island). By the Danzig stallion Bertolini, he is now a half-brother to six winners, including the Group 2 SAJC Breeders’ Plate winner Deprivation (by Mellifont), who was also sold to Hong Kong and races as Win Again (HK).
Public Figure’s yearling half-brother is by the stud’s outstanding stallion, Pentire, and is catalogued as lot 452, and is one of a six yearlings that Rich Hill will offer in April. Also in the select draft is a half-sister to the dual Group I winner, Zarita by Zabeel and she is scheduled to sell on Thursday, April 8th, as lot 448.
