Talking with TVN’s Bruce Clark, Kavanagh said, “She is a beautifully balanced filly, and, she had something special that really caught my eye on Friday.
“I didn’t sleep at all last night…and I’ve still got a few more phone calls to make before all the shares in her are gone.”

Clark pressed Kavanagh on the Fusaichi Pegasus, temper issue, and the former jumps jockey said, “I’ve no fears of the breed and I’ve had a lot of luck with them with the likes of  Cats Whisker and Tipungwuti.”

Cats Whisker and Tipungwuti both won races at Group 2 level under the guidance of Kavanagh.

Kavanagh feels the filly is more of any early type than the colt out of Makybe Diva, by Galileo, and said that she would go home, go out, and be broken in during winter.

If she happened to come through that education well he would bring her into his Flemington base for a little more education.

Consigned by Tony Santic’s Makybe Stud, the filly is one of his 10-strong draft that also includes a half-sister, by Rock of Gibraltar,  to the Group I Caulfield Guineas and Oakleigh Plate hero Starspangledbanner (by Choisir), to be offered on Thursday as lot 450.

Team Hawkes (Michael, Wayne and John) went to $700,000 for two bay yearlings early on the first day a colt and a filly.

The colt, offered as lot 16, was by Arrowfield stallion Redoute’s Choice from the stakes winning Liberty Rose (by Royal Academy), thus making him a full relation to the black type placegetter, Grande Jardin.  Liberty Rose won five races including the Listed Morphettville Guineas and hails from a family that’s produced the Group I South Australian Oaks winner, Lady Liberty (by Noble Bijou).

The filly was a daughter of Encosta de Lago’s out of the Group 3 winning Danehill mare, Milanova, a descendant of the Canadian Horse of the Year and champion broodmare, Fanfreluche (by Northern Dancer).

Offered as lot 46, the filly is bred on the same cross that has produced the Group 2 winners Merlene de Lago (ex Merlene); Dan de Lago (ex The Golden Dane); Largo Lad (ex Lady Marion) and Rocha (ex Larrocha).

Also bred on this cross are the stakes placegetters Valdemoro (ex Hveger), Encosta Belief (Plaisir d’Amour), Aloha (ex Tennessee Midnight), Sir Lago (ex Lady Langham), Familial (ex Cousins), Star Ripper (ex Dane Ripper), Thrillpower (ex Cashier), Flawless Gem (ex Real Gem) and Intrigued (ex That Kind of Girl).

The filly was offered for sale on account of Coolmore Stud, while, the colt was offered on account of Willow Park Stud Scone, both studs acted as agent.

More than $13million has been traded as the sale continues
