Show a Heart
Glenlogan’s Show A Heart is set to be crowned Queensland’s Champion Stallion for the 2009-10 season after registering another top twenty result on the national ‘Leading Sires of the Season’ table.
Although the son of Brave Warrior only has five crops of racing age, the future looks bright with his “better bred” youngsters yet to find their way to the racetrack.
The team at Glenlogan are looking forward to seeing a number of Show a Heart’s new season three-year-olds return this spring, and one of them is the Rick Hore-Lacy trained, Toorak Toff.
Toorak Toff will kick his classic season off in the Listed Vain Stakes (1100m) during August and Hore-Lacy has the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) in October as the colts’ main target this spring.
Heart Of Dreams, a dual Group 1 winner, is another set to resume during August. Trained by Mick Price, the bay gelding will kick his spring campaign off in the Group 2 Liston Stakes with his main target being the Group 1 Underwood Stakes at his home track.
Brisbane’s leading trainer, Robert Heatcote, will be sending the Woorim south to Victoria while the Gold Coast based, Howard Wilson, will send Fifteen Carat to Sydney for a tilt at the Group 1 Epsom Hcp.
Show a Heart stands at a fee of $30,250 (inc gst) this spring at Glenlogan and with an arsenal like this, breeders with youngsters on the ground by or in their mare’s bellies; look to be sitting in a very nice position indeed.
