With the BC3 Future Stars sale less than two weeks away, punters and prospective owners were reminded of the companies growing international presence over the weekend with four winners across three continents in the space of four days.

All four of the winners were having their first outings this preparation; the owners are looking forward to the next few months of racing, whilst prospective buyers have plenty to be excited about ahead of the BC3 Future Stars sale on Sunday August 22 at Inglis Oaklands.

Friday’s strong win by Stratum gelding Gig Guide against a quality field at Geelong in Australia started the ball rolling. His turn of foot over the last 300 metres as he put paid to both the promising Darley gelding Garvan and the impeccably bred Redoute’s Choice colt Hamel, gave onlookers an insight to a potential 3YO Spring performer.

BC3 will offer a colt by Stratum, lot 18, blessed with a good temperament, conformation and action the $90,000 Magic Millions premier sale purchase is bound to attract plenty of interest.

On Sunday, under the sunny skies of the Del Mar Carnival in California 2010 graduate, Cactus Jane, a filly by Cactus Ridge out of Penguin Parade (Miswaki) stepped out for her debut start. She gave the holiday punters something to celebrate with a storming finish to run away from the field and score an easy three-length victory.

Later that day in Japan, another debutante, this time from the 2009 US draft, Highest Climb, a colt by Empire Maker out of Rahy Dolly, became BC3’s first Japanese winner when he scored a neck victory at Hakodate over 1,000 metres.

Finally, on Monday at Swan Hill, back in Australia, impressive Lonhro gelding Johnnydrama broke his maiden in good style at just his second start and now looks set for a promising spring campaign.

BC3 will offer a brown colt by the Darley stallion, as lot 15, out of the unraced Excommunicate (by Grand Lodge).   Although this colt was unable to work on the preview day at Sutton Grange in July as he was suffering from a hoof abscess at the time.   BC3 have since nursed him back to good health and he has completed his workout.   The video has been posted on the BC3 website.

Lonhro is crossing very well with mares by Grand Lodge (by Chief’s Crown) as they have produced the stakes winning Dissolved (ex Yarralumla), stakes placed Status Quo (ex Step) and Segolene (ex Dorky) along with the metropolitan winners Taransay (ex Heather) and Quidnunc (ex Dorky).

With the running of the Group 2 JJ Liston Stakes at Caulfield and the Victorian Spring Racing Carnival looming close, buyers are encouraged to check out the 35 juveniles breeze ups on line.

All 35 juveniles will be available for inspection at the Oaklands Junction sales complex from August 18, with the STALLION parade at the complex the following day preceding a two day mixed sale.  The sale of BC3’s two-year-olds gets under way at 1pm on Sunday, August 22nd.
