Diamonds in demand

White Diamonds (Jugah), who sold in foal to Bel Esprit, proved the top-lot at yesterday’s Breeding Stock session of the Inglis Great Southern Sale at Oaklands.

The seven-year-old was knocked down to Dennis Roberts at $65,000. White Diamonds won twice in Melbourne and was Listed placed in the Bright Shadow Handicap in Brisbane. Her dam is a winning sister to the Caulfield Guineas (Gr 1) winner Alfa (El Moxie).

Rosemont Stud purchased the proven producer Attire (USA) at $60,000. The 16-year-old is the dam of the Champion Juvenile Filly Fashions Afield (Redoute’s Choice), whose wins include the Flight Stakes and AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Group 1 level. A daughter of the Group 1 winner Wrap Around (Bletchingly), Attire sold in foal to Street Sense (USA).

145 lots sold, grossing $822,450 at an average price of $5,672 with a clearance rate of 75 per-cent.
