Coolmore shuttle-sire Dylan Thomas (Danehill) was represented by his third first-crop winner last Saturday  at Tipperary in Ireland,  when trainer Aidan O’Brien unleashed Furner’s Green who won impressively.
Sent off a well backed favourite on the back of some promising homework, Furner’s Green was held up at the back of the 10 horse field in the early stages by jockey Joseph O’Brien.  Angled to the outside with a furlong to run, he quickened up smartly to win going away by a widening three lengths in the style of a horse destined for better things.
‚ÄúHe has been showing us plenty at home, but was a little green. He quickened up well and won very snugly at the end. Dylan Thomas could be a good stallion.‚Äù Aidan O’Brien observed.
The winner holds an entry in the G1 National Stakes at the beginning of September and last week O’Brien produced well bred filly Devotion, another with a G1 entry, to take out a maiden at Leopardstown.
The first Australasian bred crop of Dylan Thomas are rising 2yos and, he is standing at Coolmore Australia this coming season at a fee of $19,800 (incl. GST)
