HK winner for Pendragon

Think Big Stud-stallion Pendragon (Elnadim) has a smart prospect in Hong Kong in the shape of Sunday’s impressive winner The Peak (3 g Pendragon – Cavita, by Cadeaux Genereux).

Trained by John Size, The Peak was rising in weight from his winning debut and with 60.5kg joint topweight started from the outside barrier of 14 but  showed speed at both ends of the Changi Handicap (1200m) to win running fast time.

Under the guidance of Douglas Whyte, The Peak jumped brilliantly, crossed to settle fourth before gathering himself up during the middle stages of the race and unleashing a withering burst to put more than three lengths on his nearest chasers. Close to the line Whyte had the luxury of easing his mount down to score by two-and-a-half lengths over Bear Express (Stravinsky).

Dual Gr 3 winner Pendragon (Elnadim – Alacrity, by Grosvenor) stands at Dato Tan Chin Nam’s Think Big Stud in the NSW Southern Highlands, his fee in 2011 set at $8,800.
