13th Stakes winner for Holy Roman Emperor in Jersey Stakes

Coolmore’s former shuttle stallion Holy Roman Emperor (Danehill – L’On Vite, by Secretariat) sired his 13th individual Stakes winner when Ishvana (Holy Roman Emperor – Song Of The Sea, by Bering) won the Group 3 Jersey Stakes at Ascot.

Holy Roman Emperor shuttled to Australia for four seasons but served his last southern hemisphere broodmare band in 2012 before remaining at Coolmore’s Irish property for the past two years.

Ballydoyle trainer Aidan O’Brien prepared Ishvana on behalf of the filly’s owner and breeder, his wife Annemarie.

Ishvana finished second in the Group1 Irish 1000 Guineas (1m) at her previous outing but relished a drop back to seven furlongs to post her second win from seven starts.

“I’d like to thank my dad, who bought her dam at the sales for me,” Annemarie O’Brien said.

“She was very impressive and showed a great turn of foot.”

Song Of The Sea foaled a brother to Ishvana in 2011 before producing a three-quarter sister to the three-year-old by Fastnet Rock (Danehill – Piccadilly Circus, by Royal Academy) this year.”I’d like to thank my dad [Joe Crowley], who bought her dam Song Of The Sea at the sales for me. She was very impressive and showed a great turn of foot.”
