Victorian-based veteran sire Danzero (Danehill – Confidentially, by Kaoru Star) earned the 39th individual Stakes winner of his long career when See The World (Danzero – Global Dance, by Spinning World) scored in Friday’s Listed Takeover Target Stakes (1200m) at Gosford.
Danzero moved to Rosemont Stud after serving Arrowfield Stud with distinction. See The World gave a timely reminder of Danzero’s value with his game win/
See The Stars settled off the pace before surging to victory in the 1200-metre event. Winning trainer Joe Pride said the small field of nine runners provided an opportunity too attractive to pass up.
“It’s a big effort from this horse,” Pride told Sky Racing World. “He had to come from off the pace.”
“He’s been in really good form this preparation – it’s no surprise to see him get the money today. I thought the extra 100 metres was going to suit him more than most of his rivals and the wet track isn’t a problem.”
“I was keen to come here to Gosford when I saw a small field and a nice draw for the horse. Had there been a big field it might have been a bit too big of a task but with a smaller field he doesn’t have as much ground to make up obviously.”
Pride said the Listed Ramornie Stakes at Grafton would be See The World’s next likely target.
See The World fetched $120,000 at the 2008 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. The gelding has now won more than $260,000 from his six wins.
