So You Think to miss Eclipse

The wonderful career of So You Think (High Chaparral – Triassic, by Tights) could be over after the Aiden O’Brien stable ruled the stallion out of Staurday’s Group 1 Eclipse Stakes (10f) at Sandown.

So You Think was scheduled to attempt back-to-back wins in the Eclipse Stakes but will not take his place in the event after he was found to be sore in his box at Ballydoyle on Thursday.

“So You Think was found to be lame in his stable a short time ago and will not run in the Eclipse on Saturday,” O’Brien’s wife Annemarie tweeted on Thursday.

The Eclipse Stakes was believed to be So you Think’s final assignment before travelling to Australia to start his stud career at Coolmore’s Australian farm in the spring.

So You Think showed the form that netted him two Cox Plates during his emphatic win in the Group 1 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes during the Royal Ascot carnival, which was the stallion’s 10th Group 1 win.

So You Think won five Group 1 races in Australia for his original trainer Bart Cummings before Coolmore purchased a controlling interest in the son of High Chaparral (Sadler’s Wells – Kasora, by Darshaan).
