Glenlogan Park Stud sires proved hard to beat in their home state again when the progeny of Show A Heart (Brave Warrior - Miss Sandman, by Regal Advice) and Jet Spur (Flying Spur - Verocative, by Bletchingly) combined for a stakes treble.

The Kelly Schweida-trained Discreet (Show A Heart - Lady Danzero, by Danzero) emphasised her enormous talent after the juvenile posted a 3.5-length success in the Listed Calaway Gal Stakes (1200m).

Snipzu had her measure on debut before Discreet left her debut conqueror languishing in third place, as the $50,000 yearling purchase became the 15th individual stakes winner for Show A Heart.

Dual Chamber (Show A Heart - Strong of Heart, Lion Heart) broke a winning drought stretching back more than 18 months when the mare completed a stakes double for Show A Heart in the Listed Just Now Quality (1300m).

Toowoomba trainer Rex Lipp said Dual Chamber’s bad racing manner contributed to her 16-start losing streak but he was confident he had broke the back of the five-year-old’s issues.

“She’s been very temperamental and a real headache before now but we’ve finally got her cured,” Lipp said.

“She’s bigger and stronger now and more mature but a lot of it has been in her head.”

Eagle Farm stewards played a major role in Jet Spur earning his third stakes winner after awarding Biggles (Jet Spur - Be Faithful, by Last Tycoon) the Listed Gold Edition Plate (1200m) on protest from the Desleigh Forster-trained Easy Running (Easy Rocking - Melrose Gardens, by Marju).

Caulfield trainer Mick Price will unveil the latest product of a successful cross when Hearts Are Trumps (Show A Heart - Academy Of Dreams, by Royal Academy) steps out at Thursday’s Seymour meeting.

Hearts Are Trumps is a brother to dual Group 1 winner Heart Of Dreams (Show A Heart - Academy Of Dreams, by Royal Academy) and Group 3 victor Rightfully Yours (Show A Heart - Academy Of Dreams, by Royal Academy).

Hearts Are Trumps will make debut in the Centrebet’s Best Price Maiden Plate (1400m).

The gelding is the sixth foal to race out of Dream About It (Royal Academy - Dream About It, by Godswalk). Price said Hearts Are Trumps has shown ability but was not as sharp as his brothers at the same stage.

“He has ability,” Price said. “His is a nice-looking gelding and should run well on debut but he is not as advanced as Heart Of Dreams or Rightfully Yours was at the same time.

“He has had a jumpout at Caulfield and worked home well at the end of it.

“I would think he will show up first-up. We’ll see what he does first-up and proceed from there.”

The Rick Hore-Lacy-trained stallion Toorak Toff (Show A Heart - Orong, by Grand Lodge) has a chance to complete a Group 1 double on his home track in Saturday’s Toorak Handicap (1600m).

Toorak Toff won the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on September 24, carrying 56.5kg. The stallion will need to carry 1.5kg more to claim Saturday’s $350,000 event.

Glenlogan Park Stud sire Show A Heart (Brave Warrior - Miss Sandman, by Regal Advice) will have two runners engaged in the Toorak Handicap with the Robert Heathcote-trained Woorim (Show A Heart - Wabble, by Canadian Silver) engaged in the race. Woorim will carry the same colours as Show A Heart carried when he won the Toorak Handicap in 2001.

The sons of Show A Heart will need to overcome two New Zealand-based geldings, King Mufhasa (Pentire - Sheila Cheval, by Mi Preferido) and Wall Street (Montjeu - Villa Wanda, by Grand Lodge) to win the Toorak Handicap.

King Mufhasa booked an Australian trip with his strong win in the Group 1 Makfi Challenge Stakes (1400m) at Hastings on August 27, beating the Cox Plate contender Jimmy Choux (Thorn Park - Cierzo, by Centaine). Wall Street has not won since his Group 1 Emirates Stakes (1600m) success in November last year but has finished second twice at the highest level in the ensuing months.

Toorak Toff (4 h Show A Heart – Orong, by Grand Lodge) bounced back from throat surgery to win Saturday’s $352,000 Group 1 PFD Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes over 1400 metres at Caulfield.

Toorak Toff was fourth after the field had travelled 400m and  was moved up by Craig Williams to challenge the leader Master Of Design at the home turn. Toorak Toff ran on well to reach the lead 200 metres out and then go clear, defeating the fast finishing Pinnacles (Fuji Kiseki) by a length and a half with Master Of Design (Redoute’s Choice) holding on for third.

A smiling Hore-Lacy said the win was a victory for patience and persistence. “He’s always been a good horse, with all the problems he’s had its wonderful to see him come back and beat a good field like that the way he did.” Hore-Lacy said. Toorak Toff was ‘retired’ last Spring due to a throat problem but there were no studs prepared to pay what Hore-Lacy and his partners wanted. ”They [breeders] didn’t want to give us enough money the first time but now they’ll have to give us more.” he said.

“I think the way Craig rides suits him. He doesn’t give away too big a start.” Hore-Lacy said, indicating that the W S Cox Plate is now the main aim for the four-year-old.

“It’s a great thrill for me, my father won this race as a trainer and a jockey so this is a special race for me.” Williams said. “He really flew the machines and I had to be positive. He’s a funny horse he’s quite a keen horse, similar to riding a train I would imagine.”

Glenlogan stallion Show A Heart warmed up for a potentially big Group I winning weekend with three very impressive winners from his only three starters at Doomben on Wednesday.

As the sire of both Woorim and Toorak Toff, Show A Heart will have a second-to-none chance of taking out the $350,000 G1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes in Victoria on Saturday but got the ball rolling early in his home state of Queensland midweek.

The Patinack Farm owned Strip Show – a horse that Nathan Tinkler bred himself when he sent his mare Strip to Show A Heart in 2007 - showed a dashing turn of foot as he careered away from his opposition at what was only his 2nd lifetime start, and he looks to have a real future in front of him.

The Rob Heathcote trained Bribie, a full brother to the Group winner Woorim who runs in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes on Saturday, was second up from a spell and gave nothing else a look in as he stepped up to the 1200m and bounded away to record an effortless victory. The stable has long held an exceptional opinion of the son of Show A Heart and they have made no secret of the fact they consider him to have stakes potential.

The third runner, and winner, for Show A Heart on Wednesday was Princess Lyca who knuckled down to hold off all challengers over the 1650m.The 4YO mare has always been a model of consistency, having won or placed in 7 of her 15 starts, and thoroughly deserved her city victory.

Exciting colt Smart Missile (Fastnet Rock - Comical Smile, by Comic Strip) has fared terribly in the barrier draw for his first test against older horses in Saturday’s Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.

The Group 1 Golden Rose runner-up drew the outside barrier in the 17-horse field after trainer his trainer Anthony Cummings decided to aim the three-year-old at the $350,000 instead of the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m).

Despite the horror draw, bookmakers have still made Smart Missile the favourite to win the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes ahead of the Robert Heathcote-trained Woorim (Show A Heart - Wabble, by Canadian Silver), who drew barrier five.

The consistent Darley-owned gelding Pinwheel (Lonhro - Quilt, by Danehill) drew barrier eight for his bid for his first Group 1 win.

Consistent Lonhro (Octagonal - Shadea, by Straight Strike) gelding Pinwheel (Lonhro - Quilt, by Danehill) heads the weights for Saturday’s Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.

The Group 2 Warwick Stakes (1400m) winner will carry 58kg if his trainer Peter Snowden decides to run the six-year-old in the $350,000 feature, half a kilo more than the Queensland gelding Woorim (Show A Heart - Wabble, by Canadian Silver).

Another son of Show A Heart (Brave Warrior - Miss Sandman, by Regal Advice), the Rick Hore-Lacy-trained Toorak Toff (Show A Heart - Orrong, by Grand Lodge), will carry 56.5kg for his attempt at a second Group 1 win.

The 2011 renewal of the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes has attracted 28 nominations with six Group 1 winners among the entries.

Randwick trainer Anthony Cummings has provided the most interesting nomination after entering the Group 1 Golden Rose runner-up Smart Missile (Fastnet Rock - Comical Smile, by Comic Strip) for the race.

Smart Missile is one of a trio of three-year-olds entered for the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes along with Patinack Farm’s Kneeling (Encosta De Lago - Sunday Service, by Sunday Silence) and Golden Archer (Rock Of Gibraltar - Viennetta, by Pins).

Group 1 Golden Rose winner Toorak Toff (Show A Heart - Orrong, by Grand Lodge) took a step towards his spring return with a strong trial win at Cranbourne on Monday.

The four-year-old stallion endured throat troubles during the latter stages of his three-year-old season, prompting trainer Rick Hore-Lacy to retire the strapping son of Show A Heart (Brave Warrior - Miss Sandman, by Regal Advice).

However, Hore-Lacy and the stallion’s owners decided on a racetrack return for the chestnut but Toorak Toff failed to impress in the Group 1 Goodwood (1200m) in Adelaide in May.

Toorak Toff showed he is back on track with a strong 2-1/4 length heat win at Monday’s trials.

The Mick Price-trained Group 1 winner Heart Of Dreams (Show A Heart - Academy Of Dreams, by Royal Academy) finished third in the same heat.

Price produced the Group 1-winning mare Aloha (Encosta De Lago - Tennessee Midnight, by Danehill) to win the second heat of the morning.

The Group 1 Coolmore Classic winner strode home to claim the heat by a length in the reasonable time of 48.04 seconds for the 800-metre heat, which was run on heavy ground.

Queensland sires proved hard to beat on their home turf on Wednesday after Show A Heart (Brave Warrior - Miss Sandman, by Regal Advice) and Sequalo (Rustic Amber - Dash Around, by Bending Away) both recorded doubles at Eagle Farm.

Glenlogan Stud stallion Show A Heart continued his strong start to the week when five-year-old mare Heart To Fear (Show A Heart - Zoquita, by Zoffany) claimed the Race Your Way to Bali Country Cup (1200m). Another mare, four-year-old Norocos (Show A Heart - Oakwood Park, by Danewin) completed Show A Heart’s winning day with her two-length win in the Bundy R Bear Handicap (1000m).

Show A Heart’s dual success made it four winners in the past five days after the sire’s progeny recorded victories at the Gold Coast last Saturday and the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.

Lyndhurst Stud stalwart Sequalo continued to churn out the winners in Queensland when the Robert Heathcote-trained Gotcha (Sequalo - Guten Tag, by Night Shift) won the Sirromet Maiden (1400m).

The Tony Sears stable completed Sequalo’s double when Trail Boss (Sequalo - Jazzy’s Jewel, by Alto-Vita) decisively won the Bundaberg Run Handicap (1000m). Alpha Star (Sequalo - St Jubilee, by Croatian Hill) completed a quinella for Sequalo in the $45,000 race.

Sequalo’s Eagle Farm double took the sire’s tally of successes for the season to eight. All but one of Sequalo’s winning progeny has been successful in Queensland.

Woorim (5 g Show A Heart – Wobble, by Canadian Silver) made it back-to-back wins in yesterdays $175,000 Glasshouse Handicap at the Sunshine Coast. Last early on and still well back into the straight, Woorim came wide into the straight and ran on strongly to reach to the lead with 100m to go and win going away from Meet George (Rock Of Gibraltar) by a length and a quarter with Phelan Ready (More Than Ready) another three lengths away in third.

“It has been a great effort, everyone has put in, we have all had a good, so it has been great,”  said Mel Elitch, trainer Robert Heathcote’s representative. “The track was the big thing we were worried about, before the rain came we were confident because he had done so well, pulled up so great and done fantastic but when the rain came I was on the phone to the owners and even Rob and said what are we going to do, but when it went up to a slow 7 I said let’s have a go.

“When I saw him at the top of the straight I thought look out, here he comes and it was all over.”

“It all panned out in hindsight but imagine what he would have done on top of the ground,” winning jockey Damian Browne said. “He was flat all the way and struggling in the track conditions, I was trying to stay on the back of Adnocon and he really struggled but he is a class horse and he really picked up and let down strong.

“The weight probably didn’t help, he was floundering a little bit and getting weighed down a little bit, it was just the furlong turn of foot that put paid to them, then he struggled the last little bit which he was entitled to do.”

Woorim (5 g Show A Heart – Wabble, by Canadian Silver) charged home late to land the BRC Sprint (Gr 3) over 1350 metres at Doomben on Saturday.

Woorim was well back and surrounded by horses early in the straight but got clear and then sprinted hard to claim Listen Son (Big Jesse) in the final strides and score by a half-neck with Thankgodyou’rehere (Secret Savings) close up third in a tight finish.

“I did tell people he had the best finish of any racehorse I’ve ever had anything to do with,” Heathcote said later. “I said to my wife and daughter coming to the 400 - he’s last, we can’t win from there, but wow what a run!”

Heathcote is hoping Woorim can gain a weight penalty for the Stradbroke Handicap on the back of yesterday’s win. “Someone asked me the other day what was my best Stradbroke chance and I said if I get this guy in and it’s a dry track it’s going to take a good horse to beat him, hopefully this win might get us a penalty to get us in there (the Stradbroke).”

“Down in Melbourne in the Rupert Clarke he was two lengths off being my first Group One winner - hopefully he can rectify that in a couple of weeks.”

“He’s an extraordinary horse. It looked the backmarkers were probably not that suited coming into the straight, but gee what an enormous finish he’s got. Credit to Damien Browne - his timing is impeccable.”

Woorim has now won seven of his 28 starts and earned $442,250.

Leading Queensland breeder Glenlogan Park Stud has announced fee reductions for four of its stallion roster for the 2011 breeding season.

Glenlogan Park Stud will stand seven stallions in 2011. The operation’s headline act, Show A Heart (Brave Warrior - Miss Sandman, by Regal Advice) will stand for $25,000 (plus GST) next season, a drop from last year’s service fee of $27,500 (plus GST).

Jet Spur (Flying Spur - Verocative, by Bletchingly) will also stand at a reduced fee next season. The sire served 111 mares at $17,500 (plus GST) last season but mare owners will benefit from Glenlogan Park setting a lower price of $15,000 (plus GST) for the upcoming breeding season.

Consistent sire Falvelon attracted a book of 58 mares at last season’s fee of $12,000 (plus GST). The dual Group 1 winner will commence duties in 2011 with a service price of $10,000 (plus GST).

The Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Bradbury’s Luck (Redoute’s Choice - Skating, by At Talaq) will stand for $8,000 (plus GST) this season. Bradbury’s Luck covered 53 mares in his fifth season at stud at a fee of $10,000 (plus GST).

Third season stallion Real Saga (Tale Of The Cat - Windy Kate, by Air Express) will retain his $14,000 (plus GST) service price for 2011. Typhoon Tracy’s (Red Ransom - Tracy’s Element, by Last Tycoon) stakes-winning brother Red Element (Red Ransom - Tracy’s Element, by Last Tycoon) will stay at $8000 (plus GST) next season.

Glenlogan Stud has decided to start Group 2 winner Rothesay (Fastnet Rock - Schiaparelli, by Woodman) at a fee of $11,000 (plus GST) for his first season.
