Whetstone became the first winner for Lomar Park Stud’s dual Group 1 winner Valixir (Ire) when winning over 1100 metres at Wyong on Friday. Whetstone (2 c Burford, by Commands) defeated Hot Millie (Magic Albert) by a head with Knowing (Not A Single Doubt) close up in third.

Bred by Ross Cribb, Whetstone is a descendant of Cribb’s Group 1 winner Heat Of The Moment.

Dual Group 1 winner  Valixir (Trempolino) stands his fifth season at Lomar Park Stud in 2011 at $8,800.

 THE ability of the annual Hunter breeders yearling sale conducted at Scone each May by Inglis to produce winners was underlined when graduates not only won four of the races on the eight event program at the home track on Monday, but filled the first three places in the juvenile event which opened proceedings.
