It’s been a big year for Lime Country with a move to a new property in the Hunter Valley. The exciting new move isn’t the only big news with boom three year-old, and Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale graduate, Head Of State (American Pharoah) winning the G3 Gloaming Stakes. In 2021, Lime Country’s Magic Millions graduates Nudge won the G3 Pam O’Neill Stakes, and La Mexicana won the G3 Kevin Hayes Stakes.

Lime Country’s Jo Griffin said, “We’ve had a three year-old stakes winner out of every one of our Magic Millions drafts, and are excited to present another draft of quality yearlings in 2022.”

I Am Invincible is the hottest sire in Australia, and Lime Country is excited to present his filly, lot 29, who is the second foal of winning mare Faith In Hand (Fastnet Rock) herself a full sister
to G1 winner Amicus, and a half-sister to two year-old stakes winner Cheer Leader, from the family of Starspangledbanner. “She was born on our farm, then she went back to Makybe for winter before heading here for this preparation. She’s been a standout since she was born; she’s obviously by I Am Invincible when you look at her. She’s all class and quality, absolutely athletic, and should go at two.”

Lime Country’s graduate Head of State is by American Pharoah, and in 2022, they will present a filly by American Pharoah, lot 756, out of G2 winner Arinosa (Dash For Cash).

Arinosa was a tough race mare, winning nine races up to 1550m, three at Group level, and her first two foals are already winners.

Zoustar is hot property, and Lime Country’s yearling filly, lot 187, is out of La Flourescent (General Nediym), a half-sister to two Group winners in Savvy Nature and Addictive Nature, from the family of G1 One Thousand Guineas winner Hasahalo. La Flourescent has fashioned a strong record as a broodmare with three winners so far including La Girl who ran fourth in the G3 Ottawa Stakes on debut at two.

“I’m pretty sure we have the only Spieth filly in the sale and she’s a cracker.” A half-sister to Group winner Highlad, lot 304 is a daughter of G1 placed stakes winner My Lady’s Chamber (Arena). Another well-related filly is the Divine Prophet half-sister to recent Listed winner Ellsberg, lot 220, whose dam Love of Liberty (General Nediym) is a winning half-sister to Electric General.

Lonhro fillies are highly sought after, and lot 333 is the first foal of Oh My Mimi (Snitzel), a winning half-sister to G3 Black Opal Stakes winner Barbaric, with their dam being Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Mimi Lebrock. “Fillies from this family have sold tremendously well this year. Stakes placed Diddles made $1million at the recent broodmare sale. We sent Oh My Mimi to Lonhro hoping for a filly because he’s starting to be an outstanding damsire with the likes of Gatting. For a first foal, this filly has size, bone, substance, scope, and is very forward. Oh My Mimi has a Zoustar colt foal at foot.”

Champion 2YO Farnan’s winning half-sister Summer Surf (Big Brown) has her first foal for sale in Lime Country’s draft.

She is by G1 Manikato Stakes winner Brave Smash and can be found as lot 575. Farnan’s pedigree is filled with quality; his half-brother won a Listed race and was fourth in the G1 Golden Rose, and his dam (this yearling’s granddam) is Group winner Tallow.

With Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Shaquero in his first crop, Shalaa’s 2022 yearlings are going to be keenly sought. Lime Country will present lot 425, a half-brother to stakes placed winner Coin Collector, out of Group placed city winner Recoinage (Flying Spur). This is the family of G1 winner Princess Coup, dam of Champion Griffin in Hong Kong and Group winner Thewizardofoz.

Impending colt, lot 744, is the first foal of Ametrine (All Too Hard), a half-sister to Group placed winner Touch of Mink, with both being out of a daughter of Makybe Diva herself.

Two yearling colts from the Redoute’s Choice family round out the draft and they are the Almanzor colt, lot 430, who is the fourth foal of Refreshing (Stratum), a half-sister to Sangria. Refreshing is one for the linebreeding fans, being a close cross of Redoute’s Choice and his full sister Monsoon Wedding. By first season sire Showtime (Snitzel), lot 697, this colt is the third foal of Without Saying (Sepoy), a half-sister to the dam of Summer Sham. This colt’s pedigree also linebreeds back to Shantha’s Choice (4mx3f).

What secret conspiracy would you like to start?
Lime Country are working with a powerful group of international investors to buy out Magic Millions – and Gerry’s financing it.

What’s something your brain tries to make you do and you have to will yourself not to do it?
Say what I’m thinking.

Are you a budgie smuggler or board shorts type of gal?
Neither. However, I’m an enthusiastic watcher of both.
