It is the usual impressive draft being presented by Tyreel Stud who have enjoyed great success at the Classic Sale and Stud Manager Rob Sims was happy to take us through the pedigrees of the historic stud’s ten well credentialled entries…

Lot 64 bay filly by So You Think from Mega Mall (by Pendragon): second foal for a talented race mare who won four races including three in a row over sprinting trips. The other three foals produced by her dam So Sydney are all winners and that mare’s dam is the Listed winner Very Sydney; a Danehill half-sister to the Irish Group 3 winner Cajarian
“She is a sharp, good moving filly out of a speedy mare,” Sims said.

Lot 82 bay filly by The Autumn Sun from Miss Hufflepuff (by Encosta de Lago): ¾ sister to the promising Queen Of Wizardry out of a city winning daughter of the Irish stakes winner Miss Helga whose other progeny by Encosta de Lago are the Hong Kong Champion Stayer Liberator and the stakes placed Pink Siris, dam of the Group 2 filly Etana.
“A powerfully built filly with good strength and depth of girth, she hails from a family with plenty of upside.”

Lot 89 bay filly by Written Tycoon from Miss Wahoo (by Master Of Design): first foal for a Group 2 placed multiple city winner whose dam is a half-sister to the durable stakes placed nine times winner Prime Century and to the dam of the Listed winner Ray’s Girl. Group One winners Domino and Hero also hail from this family.
“By Australia’s reigning Champion Sire, she is a neat compact filly and a great mover.”

Lot 296 bay filly by Dundeel from Tender (by All American): half-sister to the promising city winner Orpheum out of a stakes placed dual city winner whose grandam is the Group One mare Kapchat, dam of the stakes winners Kaphero and Princesa. Stakes winners Star Of Giselle, Starelle, Solicit and Nayeli are also descendants of Kapchat who hails from one of New Zealand’s finest families.
“She is a real quality offering, a filly with a classical physique from a family which has great potential for the coming years.”

Lot 306 brown colt by Hellbent from Think Out Loud (by So You Think): out of a city placed winning half-sister to the Thousand Guineas Prelude-Gr.2, 1400m winner Miss Gunpowder. His grandam is an imported half-sister to the local Group One winner Absolut Glam and the fast dual stakes winner Jazz Song. Stakes winners Nobby Snip, Alphie’s Bet, Twentytwentyvision and Unusual Heatwave also hail from this prolific black-type family.

Lot 442 brown colt by Brazen Beau from Caesarissa (by Holy Roman Emperor):out of a winning half-sister to the multiple city winner Sunny Victory, he boasts a fascinating pedigree with his sire Brazen Beau (whose dam is by Snaadee), his dam sire Holy Roman Emperor and his dam all hailing from the same prolific Reply/Ciboulette/Fanfreluche family. Local stars Russian Revolution and Home Affairs both hail from the same branch.
“He is a strong, forward thinking colt, a real classic type with great market appeal.”

Lot 455 brown colt by Epaulette from Champalou (by Encosta de Lago): half-brother to the speedy stakes winner Champ Elect out of a city winning daughter of the Queensland Oaks-Gr.1, 2400m winner Vouvray.
“A strong, well grown colt whose well developed frame will set him up well for the Inglis Race Series early in the piece.”

Lot 486 bay filly by Vancouver from Dances On Waves (by Anabaa): her Villiers Stakes-Gr.2, 1600m winning dam is doing a good job at stud with four of her first five foals to race being winners including the metropolitan winner Pipeline. Dances On Waves is a half-sister to the high class broodmare Better Alternative, dam of the multiple Group One winning stallion Preferment and the South Australian Oaks-Gr.3, 2500m winner Rezoned.
“This is a real quality offering. She has a great outline to her and a lovely, nicely balanced pedigree.”

Lot 511 bay filly by So You Think from Dizzy Diva (by Starspangledbanner): a half-sister to the promising filly Spinning who was close up in stakes company just recently, she is out of a daughter of the stakes winning Encosta de Lago mare Dizlago whose dam is the AJC Oaks-Gr.1, 2400m winner Dizelle whose daughter Pinot won the VRC Oaks-Gr.1, 2500m. Her fourth dam is the Blue Diamond Stakes-Gr.1, 1200m heroine Danelagh whose son Vengeance Of Rain was crowned Hong Kong Horse Of The Year.
“She is one of the class acts in our draft. She has a great head and is an intelligent and strong moving filly who will draw a lot of attention.”

Lot 619 bay filly by Epaulette from Honey Cara (by Mossman): second foal for a multiple city winning half-sister to the triple Group winner Amelie’s Star from the family of the big race winners Brawny Spirit, Turffontein, Ivory’s Irish, Hit The Roof, Overreach and Reward For Effort.
“We end our draft on a good note with this filly who has strength and quality; she is a filly who will really catch the eye of the Classic sale’s buying bench.”

Buyers in the know are always keen to inspect Tyreel’s Classic draft, aware that this renowned farm is fully capable of producing a gem or two, such as their 2017 graduate Classique Legend, winner of The Everest and over $9.3m.
