With Stakes placed two-year-old Nobel (Exceed and Excel), Group placed, city winning three-year-old A Very Fine Red (Deep Field) and Stakes placed winning three-year-old Roots (Press Statement) from their two most recent crops of Inglis graduates, Vinery looks poised for another collection of brilliant future racehorses to join their long list of Gr.1 winning graduates.

Vinery’s Harry Roach commented, “The elite record of Stakes success Vinery graduates have achieved has been well covered and the Inglis Classic Sale is certainly no exception to the source of that success. There are a multitude of reasons that have us full of excitement to present the draft, most notably offering seven of More Than Ready’s last crop yearlings, as well as yearlings by our incredibly exciting young stallion Star Turn and overall, the prospect of more potential top liners once again graduating from a Vinery Inglis draft.”

Vinery Stud will present a draft of 30 yearlings at the 2022 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, with many of them by their own stallions.
Sprinter Star Turn (Star Witness) has had a great start to his stud career with Listed Dalrello Stakes winner Miss Hipstar, Gr.1 Flight Stakes placed Startantes as well as five other Stakes horses. The regular production of quality youngsters bodes well for Star Turn’s future. Vinery will present six of his yearlings at the 2022 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

The only colt, Lot 373, has a speed pedigree, being a half-brother to seven times race winner Another Demon, out of an Al Maher half-sister to Group winners Sistine Angel and Sistine Demon. Of the fillies, Lot 299 is a full sister to two-year-old winner Avolonte from the family of Calming and Gr.1 Golden Rose placed and Stakes winner Sebring Sun.

Headwater (Exceed and Excel) was crowned the Champion Second Season Sire in 2020/21, and he continues to show plenty of promise as a stallion with the likes of dual Gr.2 winner Jamaea, Gr.3 winner Wisdom of Water and Listed winners Mileva, and Starlight. Vinery have three yearling colts by Headwater in their Classic draft. Lot 410 is the first foal of winning Lonhro mare Beechal, who is a half-sister to multiple Gr.3 winner Table Bay from the family of dual Gr.1 winning sprinter Cape of Good Hope; while Lot 786 is a full-brother to recent winner Head on Up, out of a winning half-sister to Gr.3 winner Violate.

Press Statement (Hinchinbrook) added to his stud record recently with Gr.2 winner Kitty Cat Chat who has won four of her five starts to December 2021.

A Gr.1 winner at two and three, Press Statement will be represented by two Vinery yearling fillies at the upcoming Classic sale including a half-sister to Gr.3 winner and Gr.1 placed Winter Bride. Lot 377 has a lot of residual value as she is also out of Gr.2 winner Amberino (Perugino) and the full-sister to this yearling, Oakfield Arrow, has won twice recently.

The other Press Statement filly, Lot 264, is the third foal for speedy juvenile Spoils (Snitzel) who was Stakes placed multiple times as a two-year-old, and is from the family of Gr.2 winners Sertorius and Pretty Brazen, as well as Gr.3 winners Dollar for Dollar and
Clifton Red.

Proven stallion All Too Hard now counts four Gr.1 winners – Behemoth, Alligator Blood, Forbidden Love, and Wellington – among his 22 Stakes winners.

Vinery will offer three yearlings by their successful sire, including a colt, Lot 491, who is the third foal of Dayeala, a half-sister to Stakes winner Sky Punch. Dayeala’s first foal to race is a city winner of five races to date. A half-sister to Stakes placegetter and winner Star Boy, Lot 485, is out of a winning mare from the family of Gr.1 winner Red Dazzler; while the other All Too Hard filly, Lot 454 is the third foal of winning mare Champagne Ready (More Than Ready), a three-quarter-sister to Listed Gold Coast Bracelet winner Grace and Harmony and a full-sister to Gr.1 placed Sezanne (More Than Ready) from the famed Eight Carat family.
Twice crowned Champion 2YO Sire, More Than Ready is one of the stalwarts of the Australian breeding industry. Vinery will present two of his colts, including Lot 62, the first foal of a winning Hinchinbrook mare whose dam is a half-sister to four-time Gr.1 winner Divine Madonna (dam of Listed winner Maternal).

The other colt, Lot 381, is a three-quarter sibling to Gr.2 Sweet Embrace winner Always Allison (More Than Ready). Buyers with longer term plans should inspect the five More Than Ready fillies in this draft with many nice pedigrees among them.

Vinery will also present seven yearlings by outside stallions. By Pierro, Lot 178 is a half-brother to Champion 4YO and Older Male in Singapore, What’s New (Casino Prince), from the family of Good Faith, Tully Dane, Believe Yourself, and Tavy.

A Russian Revolution filly, Lot 620, is a half-sister to Gr.2 winner Summer Sham from the Redoute’s Choice family; while Lot 352 is the first foal, a filly, out of Gr.3 winner Zelady’s Night Out, a half-sister to Gr.3 winner Excites Zelady. Other stallions represented are Deep Field, Maurice, No Nay Never, Pride of Dubai, and Star Witness.

Vinery Stud’s long record of consistent production of tough high quality racehorses means their drafts are always a must-inspect for buyers and this 2022 Classic draft is more than ready to become another winning one.
